Sanremo or San Remo (Sanrœmu in Ligurian) is a city with about 57,000 inhabitants on the Mediterranean coast of western Liguria in north-western Italy. Founded in Roman times, the city is best known as a tourist destination on the Italian Riviera. It hosts numerous cultural events, such as the Sanremo Music Festival and the Milan – San Remo cycling classic. The city is widely accepted as the origin of the five-card stud variant telesina.

Sanremo (auch San Remo) ist ein italienischer Kurort mit 56.962 Einwohnern (Stand 31. Dezember 2010) an der Riviera di Ponente in Ligurien. Die Stadt ist etwa 20 Kilometer von der französischen Grenze entfernt.
Sanremo liegt im Zentrum einer weiten Bucht zwischen dem Kap Nero und dem Kap Verde und hat im Winter wegen der geschützten Lage der nahen Berge der bis ans Meer vorstoßenden Seealpen ein gleichmäßig mildes Klima. Im Sommer ist es ein beliebter Badeort.
Besonders bekannt ist die „Kasbah“ von Sanremo, ein orientalisch anmutendes, sehr verwinkeltes Gewirr von Durchgängen und Gassen in der Altstadt, der so genannten La Pigna.
